We are working with a UHNW family who are moving into a newly completed residence in Belgravia, London, to help them hire a full-time Butler. This is a newly created position, offering the opportunity to shape the service within a home where every detail, from the bespoke furnishings to the fine art collection, has been crafted to the highest standard.

The Butler will work closely with the male principal, providing a highly personal and attentive service that includes wardrobe care, valeting and providing that personal butler service. This is an energetic, hands-on role within a household that operates almost year-round and entertains regularly on an intimate scale.

You will work alongside the House Manager, Head Housekeeper and the family's Chef as part of a wider household team, supported by established drivers and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a discreet, personal butler service to the principal, anticipating his needs throughout the day
• Manage the principal's wardrobe, including valeting, garment care, packing and unpacking
• Prepare and serve drinks, wines, champagne and cocktails to an exceptional standard
• Manage the wine cellar, bar and beverage inventory
• Work closely with the Chef to deliver seamless formal and informal food and beverage service
• Host guests and coordinate service for intimate lunches, dinners and gatherings
• Set tables to an exemplary standard, caring for fine china, crystal and silverware
• Provide cigar service when required
• Coordinate with the principal's personal staff, drivers and security as required
• Ensure the principal's areas of the residence are immaculately presented, handling valuable objects with the utmost care
• Uphold the highest standards of discretion, confidentiality and respect for privacy, with zero tolerance for gossip, hearsay or the inappropriate sharing of information

Ideal Candidate

• The right attitude, a genuine willingness to learn and the ability to adapt, as every household operates differently and each Principal has their own preferences and expectations
• Proven experience as a Butler within a UHNW private household, five-star hotel or luxury yacht
• A strong track record of longevity in previous positions
• Excellent service knowledge and impeccable service standards, including formal table service
• Strong knowledge of drinks, wines, champagne and cocktails
• Expert valeting and wardrobe management skills
• Knowledge of cigars is advantageous but not essential
• Able to work closely and effectively with the Chef, adapting well to different personalities and working styles
• High energy, proactive and hands-on, with a calm eye for detail
• An attentive listener, able to take detailed instruction and follow it precisely
• Absolute discretion and confidentiality are essential
• Trustworthy, loyal, immaculately presented and professional

Package

• Working schedule: Wednesday to Sunday, 12:00pm – 10:00pm, with Monday and Tuesday off, for approximately 90% of the year
• Transport home provided following late shifts
• 22 days' holiday plus 8 bank holidays
• Statutory pension after 3 months' service
• Performance-based incremental bonus
• Salary: £75,000 – £85,000 gross per annum (DOE)
