People often underestimate the power of having a ski season under your belt. Working a ski season requires a strong work ethic, commitment, independence and much more. It’s also a great way to create a solid foundation for a future working in private staffing.
Career Opportunities
Working as a chalet chef could mark the start of your career as a professional private chef. Many of the most successful private chefs we’ve placed gained experience working in chalets during ski seasons and summer months in villas. They now work for high-net-worth individuals and families in some of the most stunning locations and homes in the world.
As a chalet host, you could have the perfect experience for working as a Housekeeper or as Service Staff. Depending on the calibre of chalet or hotel you worked for you would typically start as a junior housekeeper/service staff as part of a larger team. From there you could move up through the housekeeper roles/service roles to butler jobs and even onto house management and estate management.
If you’ve worked as a chalet couple and would like to continue working with your spouse, there are plenty of incredible opportunities out there for you. We are always on the lookout for private couples and often have interesting and unique roles available. One of our more recent vacancies was for a couple to run a luxury safari lodge in Africa!
Where do I start?
The best place to start is to schedule a call with one of our friendly consultants to explore what roles are available to you. They will be able to talk through all the experience you’ve gained over the winter months and how you can use that to start a successful career in private staffing.
Please be aware that our job is to find you a role that matches your skills and experience. If you don’t quite reach the level of experience we require, our consultants will help advise on areas that can be improved on in your CV.
