We are seeking a highly professional and detail-oriented housekeeper to work for a young family in the Chicagoland area. The ideal candidate will have worked in an UHNW home, understands how to keep everything spick and span, and pays incredible attention to detail. This role will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness across the property. The home should be run similar to a high end hotel, such as folding towels to perfection, making sure the tags don’t show, and washing the bath mats after every use. You will report to the principals. MUST be 100% comfortable working independently, with a good system in place, keeping things tidy and organized throughout.
Responsibilities:
- Perform housekeeping duties with exceptional attention to detail and maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the properties
- Adhere to a meticulous cleaning routine, including folding towels in a precise manner, ensuring towels are hung without visible tags, and washing the bath mat after every use
- Familiarize yourself with the property manual and adapt your work to suit the preferences and requirements of the principal
- Work independently and efficiently, taking responsibility for maintaining cleanliness and organization in all areas of the properties
- Handle laundry tasks effectively, including washing, drying, and ironing clothes, paying special attention to detail
- Handle valuable artwork and furniture with care and maintain their cleanliness
- Collaborate with other staff members, including a full-time groundskeeper and a full-time gardener, to ensure a coordinated approach to property maintenance
- Prepare the home for guests as needed
- Communicate regularly with the Principals, providing photos and updates
- Maintain a professional demeanor, being discreet, and respecting privacy at all times
- Coordinate with the Principals regarding shopping needs, including picking up items and receiving shipments
- Accommodate last-minute requests with flexibility, such as running to the grocery store for small needs
- Ensure a pleasant living environment by maintaining high standards, including checking the house for bugs, making sure the lights and appliances such as TVs and air conditioning units are functioning properly
Ideal Candidate:
- Based in Chicagoland area
- Strong command of English language, good communication skills
- Must have 5+ years in estate homes
- Excellent eye for detail, knowledge of all aspects of housekeeping
- Skilled laundress and ironing abilities, experience with closet maintenance
- Ability to assist with entertaining and serving meals if required
- Responsible, takes pride in work, and enjoys young family with young children
- Comfortable with family pets and feeding schedules
- Safe and confident driver with clean record
- Excellent references required from previous employers and proven longevity
