Silver Swan is currently working on an exciting opportunity for a skilled Assistant Head Housekeeper to join a prestigious new luxury private chateau in Provence, France. This Assistant Head Housekeeper role, running from mid-May to the end of September 2024, involves supporting the Head Housekeeper in managing a team of 10 maids within a serene vineyard-surrounded locale. Our client’s exclusive resort in Provence is looking for someone who can fulfil the Assistant Head Housekeeper role by contributing to the meticulous upkeep and exceptional guest experience throughout the Summer 2024 season, whilst being in full support of the Head Housekeeper.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Housekeeper in leading and coordinating the housekeeping team within a remote, luxurious setting
  • Collaborate in maintaining 18 suites spread across separate buildings, covering 3,500 square metres with various facilities like a gym, cinema, and spa
  • Prepare for the chateau's 3rd season, ensuring seamless operations in alignment with the established standards
  • Work under the guidance of the Head Housekeeper and House Managers, offering support in training and working alongside non-experienced staff
  • Demonstrate the ability to follow set standards while also providing direction and leadership when necessary
  • Coordinate with other departments, adapt to guest/house requirements, and conduct daily staff meetings during the Head Housekeeper’s absence
  • Maintain exceptional standards through regular inspections of communal areas and bedrooms, performing hands-on tasks, particularly during guest stays
  • Interact with guests, assisting in ensuring the team's presentation aligns with the resort's standards
  • Assist in managing laundry operations, stocking supplies, maintaining equipment functionality, and maintaining staff accommodation cleanliness
  • Display excellent time management and forward planning abilities, fostering a positive team environment through patience and a positive outlook

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience in responsible positions within 4* hotels or large private houses, ideally serving VVIP clients
  • Ability to handle the physical demands of managing extensive property and facilities effectively
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities with fluency in French (English proficiency is beneficial)
  • Flexibility to work a demanding schedule, particularly during peak seasons when Owners are in residence
  • Exceptional eye for detail and dedication to maintaining top-tier standards
  • Must have a driving licence as well as own car

Package Details:

  • Competitive salary: €3,000 per month
  • On-site accommodation initially, transitioning to a shared villa during peak season
  • Provision of meals during guest visits while on duty
