On Sunday 29 September 2019, the Silver Swan team will be in Antibes after the Monaco Boat Show with our non-profit partners – Plastic Patrol and The Green Stewardess to clean the beach at Plage du Gravette.

We have been supporting the exceptional efforts of our partners as they work towards a greener and more eco-friendly planet, and now we want to get involved ourselves.

We started our clean up mission last month, when we teamed up with Plastic Patrol to hit the waterways of East London on paddleboards and collect waste which had been discarded in the canal around Limehouse.

It was an insightful and saddening experience to discover how much waste is discarded in the water, not only plastic – tin cans, food packaging and even a high heel shoe!

Working with Plastic Patrol, we recorded our findings into their data-collecting app, which works to provide information on where plastic pollution is at its most harmful. This informative app is available for anyone to download and utilise, and provides insightful evidence into how much plastic is being used.

While the reduction of plastic pollution is an ongoing battle, it was heartening to see local residents and passers-by thanking and congratulating us as we worked on our London clean up.

The first step in making a change is awareness, so if our efforts made even one person more aware of plastic pollution and encouraged them to make a positive change, it has been beneficial.

Now, we are heading from the paddleboards of London to the beaches on the South of France to continue our clean up mission.

Plastic Patrol will join us again to log our findings, while local non-profit The Green Stewardess – an eco-friendly yacht company passionate about assisting yachts and yacht crew to reduce single-use plastics & chemical pollution onboard – will also be joining us to help with our clean up.

The whole Silver Swan team will be heading to Antibes, so you’ll have a chance to meet members from our Private Households, Aviation, Middle East and, of course, the Yacht team.

We’d love for you to get involved! We’re calling on anyone who will be in Antibes on 29th September to join us on our Big Beach Clean Up, followed by drinks nearby.

We’ll provide all the gear – litter pickers, gloves and bins – and we’ll also be giving away 30 Silver Swan goody bags on a first come, first served basis. There will also be additional giveaways through the day.

We hope to see you there!
